The Governing Council of the Polytechnic includes
representatives of the Shivapur Sikshana Samiti,
Department of Technical Education, All-India Council for
Technical Education, New Delhi (AICTE) and industries,
educationists and technologists in the region.
 Founder Patron - Late Dr. M.Y. Ghorpade
 Late Dr. M.Y. Ghorpade, an MA from Cambridge, had always been deeply committed to the cause of education and human resource development. He was Minister of Karnataka’s Rural Development for several years. He was the patron of the Shivapur Sikshana Samiti, which is responsible for the management of the Polytechnic.
